Amber Hoak is a Senior Software Engineer in Microsoft Research’s Catalyst Lab. Her work focuses on AI evaluation, agentic systems, human-AI interaction, and knowledge discovery. She develops frameworks and tools that help researchers and product teams understand, measure, and improve real-world AI experiences, with a particular emphasis on large language models, semantic telemetry, and AI-powered collaboration systems.

Amber holds a M.S from University of Denver in Software Development and Design and a B.A from University of Washington in Mathematics.
